Hello, my name is Jim Kape, and I’m a Christian.  Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not on a twelve step program to get over my devotion to Christ.  Matter of fact, I’m dedicated to sharing my love and knowledge of my Lord and Savior with anyone and everyone.

What makes me different than the other so-called Christian hucksters that are out there?  Well, let’s be blunt, I was an atheist for 28 years.  It took lots of thought, introspection, and a long dark drive from Phoenix to San Diego in the middle of the night to convince me that, Yes, there is a God.  It took me another two years to understand that he is not only interested in my life, but wants to be a part of it.

These experiences have given me an insight to the struggle many people go through in accepting God.  The things in our life where we need the support and love of God the most, frequently keep us away from him.  This is due to mistaken ideas of not being good enough, not being forgivable, not being worthy.  What most people don’t realize, the person that God can do the most with, is the one who is most broken.  When God came into my life, I was that person.  I had lost my father before he turned 50, I was taking 4 or 5 different anti-depressant or anti-anxiety medications, I was living for work and hobbies, but had a broken marriage, and a poor image of myself.  I was literally ready to step in front of a bus, when I had a long conversation with an unknown passenger, headed to San Diego.

I am on a path to delve into those things that kept me away and to point out the fallacies hidden inside them.  I want to bring you along for the ride.  In doing so, you will learn more about me, my family, my farm, my job, my tractor, my chickens, my friends, my dogs, the things in my life that make me, well, me.  But most of all, about my relationship with Jesus Christ, who has changed me from an angry, isolated, needful, hateful person, into one who is dedicated to encouraging, loving, teaching, and helping my fellow man.
